Position Summary

Creating the highest quality foods which meet or exceed our guests’ expectations, resulting in greater guest satisfaction and an increase in the positive perception of the resort. Consistently producing high quality foods in a timely manner while simultaneously maintaining effective interdepartmental communication with all co-workers resulting in increased job performance, job satisfaction and employee morale. Creating the most wholesome foods possible, under strict waste control procedures, to satisfy our guests’ needs and demands resulting in a higher return rate, a higher price value perception and lower food costs, thus an increase in resort/restaurant profit.

Essential Functions

  • Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the restaurant’s recipes, portioning, cooking and serving standards.
  • Responsible for ensuring deliveries are received in accordance with the restaurant’s receiving policies and procedures.
  • Control food cost and usage by following proper requisition of products from storage areas, product storage procedures, standard recipes and waste control procedures including checking and maintaining proper food holding and refrigeration temperature control points.
  • Ensure that all equipment is kept clean and kept in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following the restaurant’s preventative maintenance programs.
  • Responsible for maintaining appropriate cleaning schedules for kitchen floors, mats, walls, hoods, other kitchen equipment and food storage areas.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

  • Be able to work in a hot and loud environment for long periods of time.
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
  • Be able to safely lift up to 30 pounds regularly
  • Be able to work with kitchen hazards such as hot surfaces and liquids, sharp knives, and slippery floors

Required Education and Competencies

  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  
  • Culinary or Apprenticeship Program preferred.
  • Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, timekeeping, POS)
  • Prior supervisory experience required.
  • Previous hospitality experience desired.
  • Sound math and analytical skills
Compensation:
Pay starting at $20.00 per hour depending on experience.
